Firstly, we have to advise that the AC403 is not a continuous sound unit, it is ‘Sound Activated’. This means that it will transmit sounds only when it detects them.
To save power, after 10 seconds, the sound transmission will stop if no sound is detected. Once sound is detected transmission will automatically activate.
Can you check the volume on your Parent Unit is turned up. You can do this by pressing the UP button on the main Parent Unit.
Also the sensitivity of the microphone is adjustable and has 4 levels. The highest level (level 4) is the most sensitive, i.e. it will activate the sound transmission when the lowest level of sound is detected.
You do need to ensure that your monitor is on the maximum microphone sensitivity to ensure that it transmits your baby’s sounds. Can you check that the microphone sensitivity is on the highest setting as it may have accidentally been changed:
________________________________________
• Press the MENU button 3 times and the microphone icon will flash
• Press the UP arrow/button to change this to the highest setting
• Press the SELECT button
• Press the EXIT button
If you do not complete steps 3 & 4 the setting will revert to the previous one on the Parent Unit and you will need to begin again.
To test this if sound is being detected when music/a radio (not lullaby’s as the decibels do not change as this is soothing music) is being played if the decibels don’t change for 10 seconds the sound will cut off to save power.
