Interference/Out of Range situations can be caused by such things as too much distance between the Parent Unit and Nursery/Camera Unit, thick walls between the Parent Unit and Nursery/Camera Unit or even a number of dividing walls in between the Parent and Nursery Unit.
There is always a chance that eventually some interference may occur and this does not mean that the cause lies with the monitor.
Interference can also cause the display to become blurred at times. Unfortunately the strength of the signal is not something that you can boost.
It may be something in or around your home that you are unable to change such as neighbours WIFI etc. Have you tried using it in a friend or relative's home to see if the interference is the same or better?
The 2.4GHz frequency your monitor operates on is becoming “busier” as more and more wireless products are populating this frequency, people liken it to a 3 lane motorway usually at peak time, its gets congested.
We do know that some users change the frequency that the router is operating on to bypass any interference as these also generally operate on the 2.4GHz frequency that your monitor is operating on
All wireless electronic devices such as baby monitors, mobile phones etc can be subject to interference. Keep the monitor away from or out of close contact with other electronic wireless products.
Radio frequency emissions and or frequencies from other devices such as microwaves, WIFI, wireless routers, wireless speakers and mobile phones, such devices may affect the performance of the monitor.
To improve your monitors performance please try the following:
- Always keep your monitor away from other wireless devices
- Never operate your monitor in close proximity to a microwave, cordless or mobile phone
- Reorient or relocate your monitor to optimize reception, place away from Wi-Fi or Router
- Never place a GSM cell phone or other Radio Frequency emissions device in close proximity or in contact with your monitor
- Make sure any batteries in the units are fully charged for best reception
