No problem, your AC215 monitor has the sound options of:
Sound Activated (VOX ON)
This means that it will transmit sounds only when it detects them. To save power, after 10 seconds, the sound transmission will stop if no sound is detected. Once sound is detected transmission will automatically activate.
To test if sound is being detected, when music/a radio is being played (not lullaby’s as the decibels do not change as this is soothing music) if the decibels don’t change for 10 seconds the sound will automatically cut off to save power.
Continuous Sound (VOX OFF)
This means that sound monitoring is continually ON, picking up any sounds in the room including static/white noise.
It may be that the setting has accidentally been changed to Sound Activated.
To activate or deactivate either function or check that your chosen function is working see the following:
-
Press the MENU/SELECT icon to access the MAIN MENU on screen
If ON is displayed above the icon; the monitor is set to Sound Activated (VOX ON)
If OFF is displayed above the icon; the monitor is set to Continuous Sound (VOX OFF)
- Once you have selected your sound preference press the MENU/SELECT button to confirm/save your setting
Please note: if you do not press the MENU/SELECT button the monitor will automatically revert to the previous setting and you will need to begin again
In addition to this, it is possible to MUTE the monitor accidentally by pressing the down arrow on the Parent Unit. To release this press the down arrow again for approx 2 seconds to release this:
In addition to this, you can actually deactivate the sound on the monitor in the MENU. Go into the MENU on the Parent Unit and if above the sound icon is says OFF you have accidentally deactivated the sound - to hear sound it needs to say ON:
To change this use the up and down arrows to activate or deactivate the sound. Always press Menu/Select button to confirm and then the Zzz button to confirm/save your choice.
Lastly, you can raise / lower the microphone sensitivity of the microphone in the Nursery Unit, this can impact on the sound levels. To check, change this go into the main MENU & then select the SUB MENU icon:
Then select the microphone sensitivity level icon:
Use the up & down arrows to raise / lower the sensitivity - the higher the level the more sensitive. (when more bars above the icon show green = higher). Always press Menu/Select button to confirm and then the Zzz button to confirm/save your choice.
