In order to meet European BS EN safety standards the Angelcare Sensor Pad cord on all movement monitors has to be a specific length. Also to meet safety standards it is not recommended that customers use an extension lead with any Angelcare Monitor for cord safety reasons.
Therefore we advise that the AC Adaptors are plugged into convenient, accessible plug sockets.
All cords (including lamps, monitors, fans etc) must be safely out of your baby's reach, at no point must your baby be able to reach out of the cot and touch any cords.
The Nursery Unit must be at least 1 metre away from your baby's cot also for cord safety reasons. The Sensor Pad cord must always be kept out of reach of baby and secured using the cord cover kit provided.
We appreciate that these restrictions can make it difficult when setting the monitors up in some rooms/nurseries. Some customers change the layout to fit the safety standards so that they can use the Sensor Pad/Monitor.
We do know that many parents install the Nursery Unit on a tripod such as the Gorillapod tripod for wall mounting or a camera tripod for floor mounting.
On the underneath of the Nursery Unit is a 7mm screw hole which is also the standard size for most quality tripods that can be purchased from camera shops and on line.
This enables parents to achieve a safer/better position to view the cot ensuring at all times that the tripod and any cords are safely secured out of reach at the same time from baby, whichever used.
Please Note: The tripod with the Nursery Unit fitted should also be 1m away from the cot for cord safety reasons.
However we hope that you can understand that safety is paramount to Angelcare and us the UK Distributor, we willingly abide by all safety standards.
