What is VOX?

Digital Angelcare Monitors have x2 sound monitoring options.

Note: if your monitor is an analogue model - it will have Sound Activated (VOX ON) only. It is not possible to add any other form of sound monitoring. 

Unsure if your monitor is digital or analogue - does your monitor have video?

If no it will be Analogue. 

If yes, it will be digital.

Sound Activated (VOX ON) – This means that your monitor will transmit sounds only when it detects them

To save power, after 10 seconds, the sound transmission will stop if no sound is detected in the room where the Nursery/Camera Unit is placed. Once sound is detected, the transmission will automatically activate

You do need to ensure that your monitor is on the maximum microphone sensitivity to ensure that it transmits your baby’s sounds

To test if sound is being detected when music/a radio (not lullaby’s as the decibels do not change as this is soothing music) is being played if the decibels don’t change for 10 seconds the sound will cut off to save power

Continuous Sound (VOX OFF) - This means that sound monitoring is continually ON, picking up any sounds in the room where the Nursery/Camera Unit is placed including white noise.

To activate or deactivate either function or check that chosen function is working search for "The sound keeps cutting out on my monitor" in the Help Centre or refer to the user manual provided with the monitor.
